Since news broke that Bob Chapek is out as Disney’s CEO, people have been storming onto social media to share their opinions and well, celebrations. Here are 9 changes Disney fans want Bob Iger to make at the Parks as returning CEO.
The Washington Post reports that one of the most popular responses after Chapek’s departure has been, “The king has returned.” This of course is a reference from The Lion King celebrating Bob Iger’s comeback.
As most already know, many have blamed Chapek for unfavorable changes he’s made throughout his term at Disney. Many feel that the magic is gone at the Parks and Resorts.
Disneyland recently released Magic Keys for purchase, but several opted not to buy one. Disheartened by the trajectory of the beloved company, they let their actions do the talking, hoping for change.

No More Park Reservations
Following pandemic closures, Disney incorporated a reservation system, forcing Guests to lock in a date to visit a specific Park. Unfortunately, people have been frustrated with slots consistently running out, making it hard for them to plan a trip.
Earlier Park-Hopping Times
Another result of the pandemic, Guests who wish to visit different Parks in one day are forced to wait until the afternoon to enter. This makes them feel like they aren’t getting their money’s worth.
Get Rid of Genie+
This controversial system replaced the popular fastpass option. The difference is, fastpass was free, while Genie+ costs money and doesn’t even include the most in-demand rides.
Make Annual Passes Available
New sales for most annual passes have remained halted in Florida since last year. Meanwhile, California’s new Magic Keys sold out in a day, and new sales are now paused.
Reinstate The Free Airport Shuttle
The Magical Express used to take Guests from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World Resort for free. The service went away in January, adding a new expense for visitors.
Bring Back Dining Plans
Fans enjoyed prepaying for meals and using their “credits” as part of the Disney Dining Plan. Currently, plans are temporarily unavailable after being paused during the pandemic.
Make MagicBands Free
Once upon a time, this accessory was free. Now, the least expensive version costs $29.99.
Lower Prices Overall
I think this is pretty self-explanatory. Prices have gone up regularly, with new increases announced earlier this month.
