Dining Cancellation Policy Updated at Walt Disney World
We have more breaking news from Walt Disney World today! Among a slew of announcements, Disney announced that it is making changes to its Walt Disney World restaurant cancellation policy.
In an attempt to give guests more flexibility when their plans change, Disney will allow guests to cancel their dining bookings up to two hours before their reservation time.
If guest fail to cancel two hours prior, and do not show up for their reservation, they will incur a $10 per-person penalty. The fee will be automatically charged to guest’s credit card.
Previously, guests needed to cancel their reservation 24 hours before their selected time. The new rule was implemented in October 2011, to stop guests from booking multiple restaurant reservations at the same time.
At most Disney World restaurants, the new cancellation policy reads:
There is a 2 hour cancellation policy. You must cancel at least 2 hours prior to the dining reservation time to avoid a $10 per person cancellation fee. If you fail to cancel at least 2 hours prior, or if you no-show, the credit card provided at the time of reservation will be charged $10 per person.
Your credit card will automatically be charged if you no-show or if you fail to cancel at least 2 hours prior to the dining reservation time.
In the past few days, some guests had noticed the new cancellation policy was in effect. However, many wondered if it was simply a glitch in the My Disney app.
Now with this official confirmation, we know that the new Disney Dining cancelation policy is here to stay!
