A Capella Group ‘Sleigh’ Serenades Hollywood Studios Guests
The sounds of the holidays spread throughout Hollywood Studios today at Walt Disney World thanks to a new local a capella group, Sleigh. With many sets throughout the day, Sleigh plans to share their vibrant act often over the next couple of months.
Sleigh joins a wide range of retro decor up throughout the resort, including oversized versions of a few classic Christmas figurines.
Though Hollywood Studios’ holiday decorations always offer a solid throwback, Sleigh brought us right back to the 21st century with fresh, contemporary takes on holiday classics. They are scheduled to perform from today until December 31st.
Their energetic performance delighted crowds this afternoon shortly before the theme park debuted its Christmas cavalcade. Today, they performed directly in front of the Chinese Theatre, home to one of the park’s most darling attractions, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
Sleigh arrives at the parks as yet another talented vocal group from local entertainment group, Hawkmoon. The entertainment creators also manage The Edge Effect, an all-male a capella group that currently performs during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
We caught the five talented performers who make up Sleigh today, sharing their brilliantly harmonized version of Kelly Clarkson’s “Underneath the Tree.”
To find out when Sleigh will be performing, check out their page on the MyDisneyExperience app. Today, the group offered seven performances that range from just after park opening to around dinnertime.
Many of their performance also closely proceed the Santa Claus Merry Motorcade, making the pair a perfect way to celebrate the holidays on Hollywood Boulevard (between visits to the other immersive themed spaces that make Hollywood Studios such a special way to spend a day).
