Fugitive Spotted and Arrested at Walt Disney World Resort
A series of bizarre events recently landed one Animal Kingdom Guest in jail. A fugitive was spotted and arrested at Walt Disney World Resort.
Fugitive
Quashon Burton is a 31-year-old man from New York. Since November 2021, he had been running from the law.

The Daily Beast reports that Burton was allegedly involved in an identity theft scheme, which he used to steal roughly $150,000 in federal COVID loans. United States Postal Inspection Service officers attempted to arrest him, but when they visited his home in Brooklyn, he’d already vanished.
According to federal court documents, Burton’s mom told officers her son “would not be self-surrendering.” Jeff Andre is the federal postal inspector who signed a complaint against Burton. He wrote that Burton had created a “complex web of identities that made his crimes difficult to investigate.”

Andre went on to say, “He has clearly demonstrated an ability to mask his true identity to evade law enforcement. So too has he demonstrated a willingness to lie about this identity to avoid arrest.”
Spotted
Recently, on October 20, 2022, Andre was on vacation at Walt Disney World Resort. In a shocking twist of events, he spotted Burton at Disney‘s Animal Kingdom Theme Park!
The fugitive’s tattoo ended up giving him away. A distinct-looking “H” on his neck caught Andre’s attention.
Andre notified the Orange County Sheriff’s office about Burton’s presence at the Park. A deputy met him at a bus stop outside Animal Kingdom, where he was standing with two family members.

The deputy told Burton he needed to speak with him about “possible suspicious activity he was involved in.” When the deputy tried to secure him, Burton tensed up and braced his arms.
Arrested
Burton refused to listen to the officer when he told him to put his hands behind his back. Eventually, he was taken “to the ground” during his arrest.

Burton had been visiting the Park under a false identity and refused to acknowledge the truth even after fingerprints proved he was indeed Quashon Burton. Officers took Burton to Orange County Jail and then handed him into federal custody.
Yesterday, a judge ruled that Burton will not be freed on bail ahead of his trial. What a bizarre series of events, as a fugitive is both spotted and arrested at Walt Disney World Resort.
