Praline Pecan Cake is a Nutty, Fall-Flavored Delight
Wow, there really is a smell of pumpkin spice and all things nice floating around Walt Disney World today, isn’t there?
It’s November 1st and, in readiness for the holiday season of Thanksgiving, a whole host of new fall treats have cropped up on menus all around the resort.
Our MickeyBlog reporters have been having a fine time tasting each one for us, and we’re thoroughly enjoying being able to help you choose which treats to pick on your own visit to the parks this fall!
This afternoon, our adventures have brought us over to Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts, where a fun new cake has appeared on the menu at both of the resorts’ quick service dining locations.
Great for fans of full, nutty sweetness, we’re sure this dessert will go down a treat among Port Orleans guests!
What we have here is entitled the Praline Pecan Cake, which is a pecan nut cake topped with all kinds of sweetness!
It’s drizzled with molasses icing, and garnished with an assorted sprinkling of spiced candied pecans and powdered sugar.
Yummy!
It was our MickeyBlog reporter Kristen who “took one for the team” today and tried this dessert out, and she confirmed that the cake really is as rich and moist as it appears in the photos!
The powdered sugar offers sweetness, while the nuts provide a completely satisfying crunch.
Kristen also told us that while the nutty flavor may not be the most common pick for the fall, but is delicious nonetheless, and makes a great alternative for people tired of the usual chocolatey offerings.
The cake costs $5.99, and is available at both Sassagoula Floatworks at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter; and Riverside Mill at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside.
It really is a fantastic treat option we’d recommend to guests, so be sure to look out for it the next time you’re passing through Port Orleans!
However, if you’re not a fan of nuts, we’d also recommend the rich “FALL-ing for Plant-Based” Chocolate Cupcake, which can also be found at various resorts around Walt Disney World property. You can read our full review of that delicious, chocolatey item here!
