So many fantastic and exciting announcements have come from the Parks, Experiences, and Products panel at the D23 Expo yesterday.
From returning favorites to mind-boggling new park possibilities, it really has been a thrilling day to be a Disney Parks fan!

D23 EXPO 2022 – The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by VISA – brings together all the worlds of Disney under one roof for three packed days of presentations, pavilions, experiences, concerts, sneak peeks, shopping, and more. But, one of the loveliest announcements made was special to Hong Kong Disneyland. During the expo, chairperson Josh D’Amaro revealed concept art for a stunning new statue, set to be placed in the heart of the park!

The golden statue features Walt Disney and Mickey, sat atop a bench and sharing a heart-warming encounter. It was explained that this moment was designed to recreate Walt’s own memory of watching his daughters ride a merry-go-round carrousel, in the instant that one spark of imagination hit him, eventually leading him to dream up what we now know to be the Disneyland Park. How lovely!
The statue is designed to beautifully compliment other Walt Disney and Mickey statues, displayed in parks around the globe. For instance, we all know and love the iconic Partners Statue on Main Street, U.S.A.!

Although a date for the statue’s installation was not confirmed, it will be placed in commemoration of the “100 Years of Wonder” anniversary celebration, set to take place next year.
With so many exciting things set to happen in the Disney parks across the globe, it’s set to be a phenomenal year of celebration!
As a special treat, all the audience members sat in today’s Parks panel received a print of this stunning concept art on their way out the auditorium. We’re sure it’ll serve as a beautiful and inspiring piece of art for many years to come, and we can’t wait to see the final statue once it arrives at Hong Kong Disneyland!
