DinoLand at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Could Be Reimagined
Dinoland USA at Animal Kingdom Park Could Be Reimagined
Chairman of Disney Parks Josh D’Amaro just announced at the D23 EXPO, that Dinoland USA at the Animal Kingdom Park could be reimagined.
Josh was joined on stage by Imagineering Portfolio Creative Executive Chris Beatty and Walt Disney Animation Studios Chief Creative Officer Jennifer Lee.
Jennifer and Chris came onto the stage to Zootopia music. At that point, we knew it had to be the rumors about Zootopia coming to fruition.
While nothing specific about the area’s potential rides was shared.
On a positive note, they did talk about the “blue sky” Moana and Zootopia concepts that could be coming to the area that is currently DinoLand USA.
By looking at the concept art it looks like a possible Moana water ride on the left. Likewise, it looks like a possible Ariel carousel-style Zootopia ride on the right.
In the background, you can even see the Zootopia cityscape.
Overall, both Zootopia and Moana fit into the Animal Kingdom perfectly with their connection to animals and nature in general.
Zootopia currently taking shape at Shanghai Disney
After all, we are already seeing a Zooptopia area take shape at Shanghai Disney.
Once opened guests will be able to experience the city of Zootopia just like they stepped into the film.
That area was originally supposed to open in 2023. As a result of multiple shutdowns to the park because of the COVID-19 breakout, their timeline has been pushed back.
