That’s right! A new Limited Edition Monstro Tiki Mug is available today at both Trader Sams Grog Grotto and Tiki Terrace at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! Our MickeyBlogger raced over to the Poly upon hearing the news and we are so excited to bring you a first look at the new tiki mug in all its mammoth splendor.
We arrived at the entrance to Trader Sam’s where a queue was forming for those interested in picking up a mug.
All of those interested were given a wrist band.
We then lined up for another queue just outside of Tiki Terrace to pick up the mugs themselves!
As you can see, Disney collectors braved the afternoon rain shower to be among the first to get the new mugs.
There was a special table for tiki mug distribution.
The mugs retail for $50.00.
You can also get one of two drinks to enjoy with your mug.
The Whale of a Tale drink was included with the purchase.
This crafty cocktail bears a name that pays tribute to Pinocchio. It’s made with Malfy Gin Originale, Plantation Pineapple Rum, Italian Liqueur, Pineapple Juice, Orgeat (Almond) and is garnished with an orange wheel, charred pineapple wedge and pineapple leaf!
Talk about YUM!
If you want something without the alcohol, there’s the Treacherous Waters.
This mocktail is a fruity combination of Ginger Ale, Falernum, Cinnamon, Lime Juice and Strawberries garnished with a pineapple leaf, strawberry fan, and dried ginger.
Now for a look at the main event- the Monstro Tiki Mug!
This tiki mug gets its name from the famous whale that swallowed up Geppetto in Pinocchio.
This is a must-have for collectors and features the official Traders Sam’s logo on the bottom. As you can see it is also labeled first edition.
Like all tiki mug releases, we expect this special Disney+ Day offering to sell out at lightning speed. And for those that can’t make it to Trader Sam’s to pick up a mug, you can do the next best thing which is watch Pinocchio on Disney+. Check out the official trailer below:
