Celebrate the Holidays Around the World at EPCOT This Festive Season
We’re halfway to December 25th and we all know what that means… holiday season planning at Disney! Every Christmas, a magical sprinkling of holly-jolly merriness covers the whole Walt Disney World resort, and details for this year have just started to be announced.
The season of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” will commence from November 12th this year, and it looks set to be more magical than ever. In preparation, let’s hop over to EPCOT to find out what festive activities we can expect there for the holiday season ahead…

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays
First of all, we can’t wait for the return of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, which will take place from November 26th until December 30th.
This ever-popular event celebrates the wonder of the holiday season all across the World Showcase, drawing inspiration and merriment from traditions celebrated in each country represented in the park.
The undeniable draw to any EPCOT festival is, without a doubt, the food! This festive season, we have been promised the return of the Holiday Kitchen booths around the park, meaning there will be a whole host of delicious treats on offer. Y
ou can check out the menus for last year’s booth offerings here.

The Festival of the Holidays this year will also feature entertainment from the park’s Voices of Liberty, who will perform festive sets regularly.

Decorations
Of course, we can’t forget about all the magnificent decorations set to cover EPCOT this holiday season!
As always, EPCOT’s stunning Christmas tree will overlook a park filled with lights, poinsettias, tinsel, and tidings, making for gorgeous photo opportunities and a festive atmosphere of cheer.
Holiday Cookie Stroll
Also set to return this year is the ever-popular Holiday Cookie Stroll! A delectable range of Christmassy cookies will be available at separate locations across the park, and guests can collect stamps after sampling each one to complete their cookie journey.
Upon completion, a special cookie will be the reward. Who else can’t wait for those peppermint pinwheels?

Candlelight Processional?
However, not everything we had hoped to hear about was shared in Disney’s latest holiday announcement.
The beloved and traditional Candlelight Processional performances have gone without mention, suggesting they may not return this year.
Presumably, this will be down to the ongoing COVID restrictions, which are only gradually lifting in the parks.
With the return of Happily Ever After earlier this month we had hoped for more shows and special performances to be back soon too, but we may have to wait another year (and a half) for the Candlelight Processional to once again light up EPCOT.

Will the Candlelight Processional be missed for another year?
Last year, the Candlelight Processional was recreated at a charity event to aid furloughed cast members across Walt Disney World. It really is a beautiful annual event, and we hope to see it make a return to EPCOT very soon.
