PHOTOS: Popular Animal Kingdom Queues Deserted During Labor Day Weekend
After one of the busiest summer we’ve seen on record at Walt Disney World Resort, we have a burning question for Labor Day travelers: where are you?! We visited Animal Kingdom on Sunday of Labor Day weekend- what was expected to be the end of the busiest season here at WDW.
It appears that the crowds have departed earlier than usual this year, as the entirety of Discovery Island was pretty empty when we entered the Park.
We knew the real test of crowd levels would be at the attractions, so we made our way to Kilimanjaro Safaris to check the wait time. The wait time was a posted 10 minutes, and we entered the queue to find it completely empty!
We walked right down to the truck load area and waited no more than 4 minutes total to board.
Next we headed to Dinoland USA, and to our surprise found the land quite empty overall, but a definite trend was forming…
We queued up for Dinosaur next and found it to be not just a walk-on…but completely free of ANY other guests!
While Pandora was the most crowded land in the Park (no surprise), Na’vi River Journey was posted at a mere 30 minute wait, and Flight of Passage hung around a very manageable 50-60 mins the entirety of the afternoon and evening!
With one more day of the Holiday weekend to go, we expect crowds to remain low to close out the weekend.
