New Mural at Disney Springs Celebrates Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month
A brand new mural with a Cuban vibe has been added to the Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression.
Created by Cuban-American artists Katerina Santos and Juan Travieso, who are together known as TRATOS, the new artwork is both a love letter to their son and a celebration of Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month at Walt Disney World.
Juan and Katerina knew that they had great chemistry when creating art together. So, they combined their talents to become TRATOS, which means “forming a bond” in Spanish.
Culture, Family, and Love
The new mural has been a hit with Cast Members and guests alike. Many have been amazed at the representation of Hispanic culture, family, and love.
“We want people to feel the happiness and joy that (our son) Luka brings into our life,” said Santos when explaining how she hopes people connect with the art.
Introducing Ereato Maranje
TRATOS’ work now joins the art of fellow Hispanic artists like Ernesto Maranje. His art is inspired by the beauty of the natural world.
His mural, “The Path to Everywhere,” delves into childhood memories and nostalgia to bring to life “the magic that Disney has inspired for generations.”
In the Disney Springs Art Walk, Disney has created a platform for artists to express their culture and background, while coming together to showcase their amazing talents.
So, next time you visit Disney Springs, make sure you stop by. Not only will you see beautiful art from TRATOS and Ernesto Maranje, but also a slew of other talented creators.
