Five Best Table Service Restaurants for Teenagers
Everyone always talks about what restaurants are best for kids, toddlers, or babies. What about teenagers?
Teenagers can have just as much fun in Walt Disney World as small kids, but we need to remember that they can be just as moody, fickle, and great. too!
Hugs with Mickey are no longer a requirement for a great time for teenagers. Trust us, corny humor and good theming can go a long way for a fantastic time.
Ohana
Ohana is a wonderful place table service restaurant teenagers! It’s a reprieve from Mickey and his pals, and is all-you-care-to-enjoy, which is code for they can feed their bottomless pit.
Ohana features Polynesian food that is just different enough to be interesting, but nothing crazy that they won’t try it.
They can tame their stomach beast on potstickers, steak, chicken, and the famous Ohana noodles.
50s Prime Time Cafe
How many times has your teen said they feel like you’re picking on them all the time? I know, tough life, kid.
They will LOVE 50s Prime Time Cafe, where the wait staff are a little nuts about manners and they’ll publicly shame you if you can’t recall the color of the hand soap in the bathroom.
Here’s the best part – the servers generally only go after the parents. Oh yeah, parents can be scolded about their elbows being on the table and so much more!
If you don’t say “please” and “thank you” you might have your peas given back to you in your ice cream sundae!
The food is great home-style cooking. What kid wouldn’t love to have their father sing “I’m a Little Tea Pot” in the middle of a restaurant?!
Whispering Canyon Café
Manners? What manners? Social couth goes right out the window at Whispering Canyon Café. Your teen will have water shooting out their nose laughing at the different server antics.
From the moment the server walks up you might get a face full of straws or a slew of napkins raining down on your table. Watch out ordering a little water or a large drink! Oh man…
Do you kids live off of … *whispers* Ketchup? KETCHUP!!!! If you know, you know, here.
If that isn’t enough, Whispering Canyon Café offers all-you-care-to-enjoy skillets for half of what other all-you-care-to-enjoy meals cost! Your teen can chow down on skillet after skillet of ribs, chicken, country potatoes, and so much more.
Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue
Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue is the most expensive option on our list, but surprisingly, it was the restaurant that my teenager was MOST excited for.
Yup. Hoop Dee Doo is the crazy yeehaw hoedown in Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
In addition to the show, the meal is an all-you-care-to-enjoy barbeque feast! There are literal buckets of fried chicken and ribs.
Noticing a theme here of vast amounts of food? And for mom and dad, Hoop Dee Doo also has unlimited beer, wine, and sangria. Boom.
The Plaza Restaurant
The Plaza Restaurant is a small, often forgotten about restaurant on Main Street, USA. It has pretty good sandwiches, melts, and burgers. In addition the restaurant is connected to the ice cream parlor.
This restaurant also has a great view of Main Street and Cinderella Castle. Get a reservation around parade time so they can watch the parade and they will love it.
Teenagers are in a tough spot. They can feel caught between childhood and adulthood, and Disney can still be a special place for them because in Walt Disney World, no one needs to grow up.
Even in my 30s, I still skip down Main Street. It’s just balancing the innocent fun with not embarrassing your teenager with “baby stuff”.
Here’s your final tip: Stay patient with them. They want to have fun. Maybe, just don’t go all “Sassyfrass!” like Goofy at Lester’s Possum Park. If you know you know…
