BREAKING: Merchant of Venus Reopens in the Magic Kingdom as a Rest Area for Guests
We have some big news coming out of Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom, as Merchant of Venus has finally reopened to guests!
For the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic closed the Walt Disney World Resort, this futuristic Tomorrowland store has opened its doors to guests.
However, something has changed…
It’s not a store any more, but a rest area for guests!
Here’s the moment those doors opened for the first time since 2020.
As always, MickeyBloggers Greg, Elyssa, and Jared were first on the scene to check it out!
Stepping inside the building, guests are met with the same, spacey, Tomorrowland theme, yet with a whole new vibe.
With plenty of seating and tables, it works as a great, hidden-gem of a rest area for guests!
Most importantly, the area offers plenty of much-needed air conditioning. So, next time you’re in the Magic Kingdom and need to step away from the busy, summertime crowds, you’ll know where to head to!
In total, there are fifty chairs in the area, spread out around eleven tables. This means families of all different sizes can comfortably step out to rest in here, and we’re sure to see the place utilized in the coming weeks!
Along the walls, some awesome posters have been put up, representing different characters, attractions, and themes of Tomorrowland.
If this particular land in the park is your favorite, it’s worth a stop by Merchant of Venus just to admire this cool artwork!
The new look to Merchant of Venus reminds us a lot of the “Relaxation Stations” which were set up around each of the four parks at Walt Disney World back in 2020. These functioned as a place for guests to go to remove their face masks back during the time strict pandemic regulations were in place, but the areas were removed as the requirement lifted.
Even though the wearing of face masks is no longer a requirement, we’re pleased to see the return of this “Relaxation Station”-esque area, which we’re sure will come in handy for guests in need of a break from the crowds and excitement of the Magic Kingdom.
I wonder if other, similar areas will be set up in the other three parks to match? I guess we’ll have to wait and see
Whether or not Merchant of Venus ever reopens as a store also remains to be seen. With Star Traders right around the corner there is plenty of shopping to be done in Tomorrowland, but MickeyBlog will keep a close eye out to see if anything changes in the near future!
So, next time you’re visiting the Magic Kingdom, you now know a good spot to stop and take a much-needed, air-conditioned break from your busy park schedule.
