Character MagicBands Will Soon Be Offered to Disney World Onsite Guests and Annual Passholders!
UPDATE: According to Disney, the MagicBands will be available for purchase starting on May 15, 2019. Guests will be expected to pay $14.99 for each upgraded MagicBand at the time of selection. Upgraded MagicBands are non-returnable and non-refundable. This includes guests who have cancelled their reservations. In addition, if a reservation is cancelled, guests will be charged the full price (not the $14.99 discounted) rate for the MagicBands.
We’ve got some very exciting new Disney friends! This morning Walt Disney World announced that guests booking an onsite stay at a Walt Disney World Resort as well as Annual Passholders will have the ability to choose from over 30 designs including characters when customizing your MagicBands! There will be an upcharge for this service but according to Disney this will be at a discounted rate!
One unveiled guests will still have the option of choosing from the traditional complimentary solid colors currently available via your My Disney Experience account or choosing one of the new design character options for a special additional price of $14.99.
As you see from the image above, the interface on My Disney Experience will allow you to select between both options! MagicBands can be customized for each member of your traveling party and guests do have the ability to mix complimentary and upgraded versions when making selections for your family.
Similar to the traditional designs, the new bands will also be shipped directly to homes (for guests living in the U.S) if ordered 11 or more days ahead of your arrival for those wanting personalization or 6 days for those going with the traditional version.
