MickeyBlog News for August 8th, 2022
The calendar may say early August, but Disney officials act just like the rest of us. They’re already fantasizing about the holidays!
We’ve got plenty of information regarding the holidays at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. I’ll bring you up to speed in MickeyBlog News!

Happy Holidays at the Happiest Place on Earth!
Disneyland Resort has confirmed its 2022 holiday lineup, and I guarantee these events will put a smile on your face!
Disneyland will officially switch from Halloween to Christmas décor on November 11th.

Some changes will obviously occur before then, but that’s the date when everything will be ready.
Starting on November 11th, Downtown Disney and the three official resorts will offer “dazzling décor and photo opportunities.”
The hotels will display Christmas trees and other decorations. Also, carolers and Santa Claus will occasionally show up to entertain you!
Most importantly, the gingerbread house will return at the Grand Californian!
You can expect the standard festivities at the parks this year, including the beloved 60-foot-tall Christmas tree on Main Street, U.S.A.
We’ll get the beloved Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle decorations as well.

Disney has promised plenty of characters at Town Square. Still, the bigger story is that several of them will wear new holiday costumes this year!
A Christmas Fantasy Parade will run every day throughout the season. Favorites like Anna, Elsa, and Minnie Mouse will appear as part of the show.
At night, the Believe… in Holiday Magic fireworks will return. You’ll once again watch the digital projections on Main Street, U.S.A. and It’s a Small World, too.
Speaking of which, Disney confirmed that the It’s a Small World holiday will join Haunted Mansion Holiday for 2022.

Disney California Adventure Holiday Events
At Disney California Adventure, World of Color – Season of Light is back again, as is the Disney Festival of Holidays.
The park will also offer the Sip and Savor Pass for guests who want to sample plenty of the holiday food booths.
We’ll also enjoy Mickey’s Happy Holidays and the Disney ¡Viva Navidad! street party.
Meanwhile, two rides will receive holiday overlays. Those are Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree.

Also, Disney will provide guests with a chance to interact with Encanto’s Mirabel. She’s joining Santa Claus as a character greeting this holiday season.
You’ll also find the 50-foot-tall Christmas tree at Buena Vista Street. In other words, Disneyland Resort will embrace a full-fledged holiday event this year.

The modified ones from 2020 and 2021 are a thing of the past and something we won’t miss at all.
Walt Disney World Halloween Updates
Of course, a different Halloween celebration will arrive much sooner. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) arrives later this week!

No, you didn’t bump your head and fall into a two-month coma. The party starts on August 12th this year.
You’ll already discover fall decorations throughout the parks at Walt Disney World…and we’re just getting started!
In fact, Disney is still announcing new stuff for the Halloween party. For starters, reservations open on Tuesday, August 9th, for two iconic dining experiences.
You can book reservations at either Be Our Guest Restaurant or Cinderella’s Royal Table during MNSSHP.

I would maintain that this isn’t the best use of your time during a paid after-hours event, but it’s your call.
If you haven’t ever eaten at either dining experience, competition for reservations is much less competitive during MNSSHP.

Speaking of that event, the Mickey’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party will return this year.
Disney just announced pricing for the event at Tomorrowland Terrace. It costs $115 plus tax for anyone over the age of nine and $69 for anyone three to nine.

You can also purchase a less expensive version for $99/$59. But, with it, you sit at Plaza Gardens rather than Tomorrowland Terrace. You still get special seating, though.
Both versions include dinner. So, there’s that on top of the excellent view of the presentation.

Disney also confirmed that Mickey’s Boo-to-You parade will run at 9:15 and 11:15 p.m. on MNSSHP event nights.
Meanwhile, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular operates at 8:35 p.m., 10:40 p.m., and midnight on those nights.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular
This year’s event will be a bigger deal due to the impending debut of the Hocus Pocus sequel on Disney+.
Miscellaneous Park Updates
We’ve got a few more updates to discuss. First, BoardWalk Deli has just announced its opening date of August 15th. Yes, that’s a week from now.

Disney had previously posted the menu, and it’s impressive enough that I slotted it in the cheap eats article.
Meanwhile, at Disney’s Camp Wilderness, the beach renovations have finished. So you can sit on a lawn chair in the sand once more!
At Disneyland, I have news that won’t make you happy. As of tomorrow, August 8th, Matterhorn Bobsleds is undergoing a refurb.
Disney provided no details about the duration of these renovations. So, we’re all left to wonder about its return.

A couple of recent Disneyland Resort fixes have taken just a few days. Others…have lasted longer than expected. I’ll keep you informed.
For Disney Cruise Line guests, my friends at MickeyTravels have an important tidbit to pass along to you!

DCL has updated the final payment date to 60 days out, giving you more time. This change applies to all unrestricted stateroom sailings through March 31st, 2023.
As always, if you have additional questions, you should speak to one of the MickeyTravels experts.
Nobody knows DCL better than them, and their services are free to you!
Finally, the next time you log into My Disney Experience, you’ll notice something new.
Disney has added six introductory videos for Disney Genie and Disney Genie+. They’re not available on YouTube yet. So, I cannot link them here.

However, these new clips show you how to use the Tip Board, Lightning Lanes, and the benefits of Disney Genie+, among other things.
You can watch all of them in less than ten minutes. So, you should take the time to do so before your next trip!
