TRON Coaster Continues to Take Shape at Magic Kingdom
It’s time for your weekly TRON Coaster update! Our MickeyBloggers rode the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover this afternoon to share the latest construction photos with us.
As we mentioned before, construction has trickled over to the Light & Power Co gift shop which is adjacent to Space Mountain.
The side of Light & Power Co will share a walkway with the TRON Coaster and its going through a bit of a facelift while work is being carried out.
As a result a portion of the gift shop is partitioned off and work is being done to the exterior.
In terms of the TRON Coaster, the canopies are completed.
We can also confirm that ride testing has been ongoing and we have spotted the lightcycles during our visits.
It looks like there is still a lot of work to be done on the grounds around the attraction.
In that respect it is still a very active construction site.
As of going to print, Disney has yet to announce an official opening date for the attraction.
Its hard to see it from these photos but the incorporated into the design is a tunnel for the Walt Disney World Railroad which has been down during the entire TRON construction period.
Concrete walls are also being put up between the TRON Coaster and Tomorrowland Speedway.

We will continue to follow the construction progress closely.
We suspect that we’ll start to see the walkways and entrances near completion over the next few weeks.
