Disney! Bring Back Pete’s Silly Sideshow!
We were thrilled when Disney announced that character meet and greets were returning in April. Cue ugly crying!!
Characters were being bought back slowly but surely and now the Magic Kingdom looks almost like it did prior to the closure!
Recently, Disney announced that even more characters are turning to the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Mickey will be thrilled that his best girl will be joining him at his meeting station at Mickey’s Town Square Theater.
They also said specifically that Star Wars will be back at the Launch Bay in Hollywood Studios and Pooh and Friends in the Magic Kingdom.

But what about Storybook Circus???
Disney lightly mentioned Storybook Circus towards the end of the press release, but only that it would be opening in coming months. Woah… We don’t think Pete’s Silly Sideshow is getting the respect that it deserves!
We think it’s wrong to specifically call out Pooh by name but just group together some of the O.G. Disney cartoon cast as just “Storybook Circus”. Tsk, tsk, tsk.
We need to pay some respect to Disney cartoon history. Minnie Mouse’s first Disney appearance was in the cartoon that made Mickey Mouse famous all the way back in 1928.
Goofy’s first appearance was in a cartoon short in 1932. Donald Duck’s first appearance was in 1934 and Daisy made her debut in 1937…
Meanwhile, Fairytale Hall reopened in April and the oldest character there is Cinderella whose movie premiered in 1950. We feel like Rodney Dangerfield, “where’s the respect?”.
What is Pete’s Silly Sideshow?
In Storybook Circus in New Fantasyland is a big top with a sign for Pete’s Silly Sideshow. This was a major meet and greet station not too long ago!
In one place you could meet Goofy, Donald, Minnie and Daisy! Donald is a magician, Minnie is a poodle trainer, Daisy is a fortune teller and Goofy is appropriately, a stuntman.
This was an awesome location to meet 4 characters at one time, and what was even better was that the lines were always low because Storybook Circus tends to be a very quiet area of Magic Kingdom. The characters are sectioned off in pairs, so to see all 4 you need to wait in 2 lines.
In the old days of Fastpass+ there were fastpass lines for both sides of the tent, so it’s safe to assume that there will be Genie+ Lightning Lanes when this reopens.
This is the only place in the parks to hug our angry pal, Donald Duck, (outside of restaurants) and we miss him! Not only him, Pete’s Silly Sideshow is the only place to hug Goofy and Daisy, too!
Which of the Silly Sideshow pals are you most excited to see again?
