Ghastly Burnt Darth Vader Bust Pops Up at Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities
The legendary Ithorian collector Dok-Ondar is adding a ghastly new item to his den of antiquities! A new burnt Darth Vader Bust has arrived as though it was ripped straight from The Force Awakens.
Darth Vader is having a grand resurgence due to his role as the primary antagonist in Disney Plus’ new series Obi-Wan Kenobi. As Kenobi’s former padawan, the fates of Kenobi and Vader are forever intertwined, and it is with the series that we learn more of what happened during the gap from Revenge of The Sith to A New Hope.
However, this immaculate bust isn’t from Obi-Wan Kenobi or any of the Prequel or Original Trilogies. This Vader helmet is based on the helm in The Force Awakens, Kylo Ren had built a shrine to the helmet, promising to finish what Vader started.
The eerie piece is done in a sort of dulled silver material, perfectly capturing the charred husk of Vader’s helmet. Mangled and melted steel warp Vader’s once menacing visage, leaving it a twisted shell of a bygone era. The artist is able to perfectly capture the distortion of the helmet due to the flames that warped it.
How did Vader’s mask reach this sad state? One might remember that at the end of the sixth film Return of The Jedi, Luke places Vader’s armor on a funeral pyre, lighting it in honor of his father’s memory and subsequent return to the light side of the force after throwing Emperor Palpatine down Death Star shaft.
How Kylo came to acquire the helmet is unknown, but the artist that rendered this work did a splendid job. You can almost see where the fire would have begun to melt the helmet, a widening gash for where Vader’s breathing apparatus would have been, and Vader’s left eye completely melted open.
The Burnt Darth Vader bust sits on a diamond shape black platform. The bust will run for the price of $350, but in return, a collector is getting an absolutely amazing sculpted bust that would look magnificent in any collection. How long the bust will be available at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities is unknown so get yours now!
