‘Momentous’ Lights the Night at Hong Kong Disneyland
After five years of development, Hong Kong Disneyland welcomed its new nighttime spectacular, “Momentous,” today. The new narrative emphasizes celebrating the special moments in life while learning from the challenges in everyone’s stories.
This show “is a testament to the hard work and vision of our Cast and Imagineers. With themes of both jubilation and hardship, shared experiences we can all relate to in recent years, Momentous effortlessly captures the beautiful journey of life,” said Jill Estorino, The Walt Disney Company President and Managing Director, Disney Parks International, in a LinkedIn post.
Momentous Details Define New Show
With an emphasis on those defining life moments, the show features characters from an enormous range of Disney films, including classics like “Bambi” and “Lady and the Tramp.” Other powerful narratives highlighted include the stories of Hercules, Tiana (“Princess and the Frog”), Miguel (Pixar’s “Coco”), Anna and Elsa (“Frozen” and “Frozen 2”), and Moana.
Throughout the show, guests witness a range of breathtaking new projection effects on the Castle of Magical Dreams, the park’s focal point, along with incredible fireworks and water effects. A new inspirational song also debuts as part of the display.
“With such a dazzling combination of illuminating effects, I’m sure it’ll be an awe-inspiring encounter that only gets better each time you experience it!” said Michael E. Moriarty in a LinkedIn post. Moriarty serves as President & Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland.
