10 Reasons We Love Cars Land on Its 10th Anniversary
Can I get a Ka-chow!? Cars Land at Disney California Adventure is celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary. We thought what better way to pay tribute to this incredibly immersive land than to highlight 10 of the things that we think make this part of the park extra special.
Cars Land first opened to visitors on June 15, 2012 and immediately became a fan favorite for the way it brought storytelling to the parks in a whole new way. You’ll find yourself in the middle of Radiator Springs and into the world of Pixar’s Cars franchise. This area of Disney California Adventure spans 12 acres and remains just as beloved today as it was when it first opened a decade ago.

1.) Meet Your Favorite Cars Car-acters
It wouldn’t be a visit to Cars Land without an opportunity to mingle with the legendary race car, Lightning McQueen. You’ll find him and his pal Mater parked just outside of the Cozy Cone Motel.
2.) Get the New Tow Mater Premium Popcorn Bucket
Pop by Flo’s V8 Cafe, Filmore’s Taste-In or Cozy Cone Motel to pick up one of these Tow Mater Premium Buckets. We don’t expect these beauties to be around for long so race over at get yours while supplies last.
3.) New! Guido Photo Location
To celebrate Cars 10th Anniversary guests can pose with the legendary Guido during a limited Meet and Greet experience in front of Luigi’s Casa Della Tires. Strike a pose and say “Buongiorno!” to Guido!
4.) Race on Radiator Springs Racers
The best way to experience Cars Land is by zooming through Radiator Springs and past the incredible scenery of Ornament Valley during this high speed race. You’ll square up against another car at the starting line and take to the road, over hills and along thrilling straightaways.
5.) Take a Spin!
Hop into a miniature Italian roadster at Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters and glide, turn and spin across a trackless “dance floor.” Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters was the first Disney attraction in the United States with a trackless ride system.
6.) Score a Special Souvenir
Looking for that perfect memento of your time at Cars Land? Pop by Sarge’s Surplus Hut or Ramon’s House of Body Art for merchandise, toys and apparel celebrating Cars Land and car culture. Here you’ll find the new Cars Land 10th Anniversary limited edition pins featuring Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater.

7.) See Radiator Springs at Sunset
There’s no bad time to visit Cars Land but there is something truly special about the moment when all of the neon signs in Radiator Springs light up the night sky! The incredible site pays tribute to driving down Route 66 in 1950s America.
8.) Enjoy a Milkshake and a Meal at Flo’s V8 Cafe
Cars Land is one of my favorite places to go for eats and treats. Flo’s V8 Cafe is a delicious dining spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Highlights include the Ka-Cheeseburger or Flo’s Famous Fried Chicken and a Flo’s Classic vanilla, chocolate or strawberry milkshake topped with “road gravel” cookie crumbles for dessert.
Quick: Tip: Mobile order in advance on the Disneyland app to avoid waiting in the long lines.
9.) Make a Pit Stop at the Cozy Cone Motel
Cozy Cone Motel is another awesome spot to stop for sweet and savory treats. The walk-up windows are shaped like orange traffic cones and you can’t go wrong with awesome items like the Chili Cone Queso made with beef chili, cheddar cheese and corn chips, served in a bread cone!
10.) Sightsee Along Route 66 to Cadillac Range
Off in the distance, you’ll see one of my favorite Disney views and its NOT of a castle. Ornament Valley serves as the backdrop of Cars Land and actually features six mountain peaks called the Cadillac Range. These represent six Cadillac tail fins from 1957 to 1962.
