Gaston’s Tavern Has Reopened At Magic Kingdom
TGIF Disney Friends! We’re coming to you LIVE! from Magic Kingdom this morning where we stopped by one of our favorite places to stop for a snack – Gaston’s Tavern at New Fantasyland. This is one of the locations that has remained closed since Disney reopened back in July. Let’s take a look at how things are looking after Gaston’s long vacation.
Because Gaston’s is on the smaller side, a queue has been set up outside near the fountain to keep guests socially distanced! You can see the markers on the pavement.
A portion of the fountain is also roped off to accommodate the queue.
A cast member is stationed at the doors (which have been propped open) to make sure guests stay distanced and floor markers extend into the tavern.
For now, the menu has been scaled back a little bit. Gone are some of the savory treats like the hummus and sandwiches.
However, the signature Cinnamon Rolls are back and they’ve also included a Grey Stuff cupcake on the menu.
Here’s a quick look at the scaled-back menu in its entirety.
LeFou’s Brew (which in our estimation rivals the Dole Whip) is back and it was so nice to be able to order up a stein of this frozen apple juice drink once again.
The steins are still available for purchase which make a cute Beauty and the Beast themed souvenir.
However, we noticed that LeFou’s did taste a bit different. Cast Members on the scene told us that they’ve done away with the toast marshmallow and we do miss the sweetness that it brought to the drink which is now much more tart with just the apple juice and mango foam.
We aren’t sure if this is a temporary change or something more permanent. We are hoping the latter as the menu still includes the marshmallow.
The cinnamon rolls are warm, tasty and delectable as ever. They’re also massive in size making them a perfect snack for sharing!
The picture above gives you a better since of the sheer size of these sweet treats!
We also couldn’t help but tuck into the Grey Stuff cupcake as well. This is a chocolate cupcake topped with the whipped cookies and cream topping that has been wowing guests over at Be Our Guest restaurant.
