Cast Members Prepare Tasty Snacks for Animals at Rafiki’s Planet Watch Before Your Eyes!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom has always made the health, safety, and well-being of their animal residents their top priority.

At Rafiki’s Planet Watch, you can of course learn to draw your favorite Disney animated character and even brush some very friendly goats. But did you know you can also get up close and personal with some of the leading animal care experts in the industry? 

We visited Rafiki’s Planet Watch in the hopes of seeing some animal care up close…and we lucked out when a Cast Member was preparing snacks for the residents of the Park right before our eyes! 

Inside the Planet Watch, guests can take an up-close look at some of the enriched, supplemental foods the animals are served in order to keep them in tip top shape. When we visited, a very friendly Cast Member shared that she was preparing snacks for some of AK’s herbivores!

While the animals love to munch on the leafy greens she’s preparing, they also rely on the additional nutrients from the pellets to keep them healthy.

The freshly-washed romaine lettuce she was preparing was as crisp and green as any you’d find served in the human restaurants in Animal Kingdom, further proving just how dedicated Disney is to keeping their animals happy and healthy!
