Locals and officials celebrated a special event this past Tuesday, April 22nd! A New Disney-Themed Community Breaks Ground in California.
Complete with guest speakers, a special ceremony, and plenty of fanfare, the ground breaking ceremony marks the official kick off for this up and coming Disney community!
Cotino in Rancho Mirage, California
Plans for this new development were first announced in February 2022 generating plenty of buzz and excitement.
The new community is named Cotino and nestled in Rancho Mirage, California. The Disney-themed community is the first of its kind as a planned residential community.
Numerous amenities are available including the best options in dining, live entertainment, retail, and more. The planned community boasts a luxury hotel, numerous entertainment offerings, and a 24-acre lagoon.

According to this article by KESQ, Rancho Mirage’s Mayor Charles Townsend, shares in the excitement of the development calling the community a “perfect fit for Rancho Mirage.”
He also states that it is “an economic boost for Rancho Mirage” and the entire Coachella Valley.
DBM Development shared only 2 details about the new homes and the community during the ground-breaking:
- The style of homes are mid-century modern themed, with a ‘forward-looking’ and modern feeling.
- The street names are color-themed.
There are no further details released at this time.
Disney officials have announced that homes in Cotino will begin to sell in early 2023, with a residential move in date estimated to be 2024.
