Disney Cruise Line Removes Mask Mandate for Buses and Cruise Terminals
If you are going on a Disney Cruise soon and fully-vaccinated, you can officially leave the mask or face covering at home! Until today, Guests who are fully-vaccinated were not required to wear masks in most indoor and outdoor locations on the ship, they were still required to be worn in United States cruise terminals as well as buses used to get Guests to and from the port. But, that has all changed!
Last week, a federal judge in Florida declared it was unconstitutional to mandate that guests wear masks on public transportation in the United States. This included airplanes and public buses. When this ruling came down, many airlines immediately suspended their mask requirement for all crew and Guests.
The original public transportation mask mandate was issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and extended to airports and cruise terminals in the United States as well as buses, airplanes, and even the Monorail at Walt Disney World. However, with last week’s ruling Walt Disney World removed the mandate on buses and the Monorail and now Disney Cruise Line has decided to follow suit.
Since Disney Cruise Line requires all Guests ages 5 and up to be fully-vaccinated, the removal of the mandate for Disney Cruise Line buses and cruise terminals means masks and face coverings are now optional for all Guests ages 5 and up for their vacation. They are still required for Guests ages 5 and under who are not eligible to be vaccinated in all youth centers and the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

Even though masks are optional for those who are fully-vaccinated during every step of their cruise vacation, Disney Cruise Line still strongly recommends they are worn by all Guests in indoor locations.
