CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Railroad Tunnel Visible Under TRON Coaster In New Photos
A couple of weeks ago, we here at MickeyBlog shared the news with you that testing had started for the Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom. This news was HUGE as the railroad has been on hiatus for many years due to construction of the TRON Coaster which obstructs the railroad track.
However, today our MickeyBlogger popped by The Barnstormer in Storybook Circus to share a very interesting feature of the new TRON Coaster construction- the railroad tunnel!
That’s right! Incorporated into the design of TRON is a new tunnel that the Walt Disney World Railroad will pass through between picking guests up at Storybook Circus and dropping them off at Main Street U.S.A.
This is an aspect of construction that has me pretty excited as I’ve sincerely missed using the Railroad to get around the periphery of the busy park!
In addition, from this vantage point you can also get a look at work still being carried out to the exterior of the building.
It looks like there is still some siding to go up.
Crews were hard at work adding the remaining panels to the coaster’s massive canopies as well.
You can see the crew below wearing safety harnesses as they scale the heights of the canopy domes.
With the exciting news about the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, we hope that TRON coaster news is not too far behind.
We will continue to monitor construction closely.
