Disney Testing Walt Disney World Railroad Ahead of Return
Well here’s some good news for your Friday morning! If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog, you’ll know that the Walt Disney World Railroad has been out of commission for a very lengthy period of time while construction teams worked on the TRON Coaster. This is due to the fact that the TRON construction site intersected with the original track for the Railroad.
However, as the TRON coaster inches ever closer to completion, it looks like Disney is getting ready to bring back the iconic Walt Disney World Railroad. Disney took to their official Tik Tok account today to show engineers testing the attraction. You can see the post below.

In the video, cast member Lou gives us a rundown of the intricate process that Engineers must go through each day to keep these iconic steam trains running. If watch the clip in its entirety, you’ll hear Lou talk about bringing back the trains soon!
The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed since December 3, 2018 ad Disney began construction on TRON Lightcycle Run. The process was lengthened due to the shutdown of Magic Kingdom as a result of the pandemic.
Disney has not said as of yet when the TRON coaster will officially open. However, this is a story that we’ll continue to follow closely. Readers are encouraged to keep checking back with us for further news and updates!
When it returns, the Walt Disney World provides a fantastic way to travel quickly around the periphery of Magic Kingdom. The railroad makes station stops in Main Street U.S.A, Frontierland and Storybook Circus.
