Royal Court Tea on Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line is a great vacation to relax but also a way to experience magical Disney touches. One of the most magical parts of my most recent cruise was the Royal Court Tea on the Disney Magic. The Royal Court Tea on Disney Cruise Line is a unique experience not to be missed.
The Basics
The Royal Court Tea experience is offered on the Disney Magic, Wonder, Dream, and Fantasy. The Disney Wish will offer a similar experience involving Olaf and likely the other Frozen characters. The event provides character interactions, musical theater, tea, apple juice for children, and sweet and savory snacks to pair with the tea.
The event is limited, and reservations are popular. As a first-time cruiser, I was not able to book it during my window but was able to snag a reservation after another guest assumedly cancelled. Disney Cruise Line booking windows pertain to Castaway club status, giving frequent cruisers an advantage.
Pricing
The pricing to this event is steep. Children ages 3-12 pay $220 a child. Adults are $69. Our food consisted of sandwiches, desserts, macarons, marshmallows, scones, and more. Adults receive tea and children have apple juice.
The child’s price is higher because they release several gifts. During our cruise, the children received an 11×14 princess matted print, a Cinderella journal, a Cinderella doll, a purse, a headband, a princess pen, a bracelet, necklace, and charms for the bracelet and necklace.
The items they receive may change. For example, when we sailed, they were not providing full character interactions so we did not receive an autograph book.
Boys will receive a Royal Court cinch bag, sword, shield, pins, autograph book, and a Duffy Bear.
The Program
The program begins with each child being welcomed to the room with an announcer introducing “Princess or Prince” and your child’s name. You are then escorted to your seat where the toys are waiting for your child. Two characters created for the experience, Lady Chamomile and Chef Brule, narrate the event.
The characters even sing familiar Disney songs. The waiters come to your table in synchronized fashion to deliver the tea and snacks. Lady Chamomile and Chef Brule then introduce each Princess one by one. During our sailing, Belle, Cinderella, Tiana, were all present.
Each character talks to the children and shares a story. After each character is introduced they will come to the center for photographs and greetings with your children. I suspect that since normal character interactions are returning April 18, that the Princesses will soon make their way to each individual table and will sign autographs again.
Review
We loved our experience. It reminds me of the tea experience at the Grand Floridian which has yet to return post COVID. The pricing was similar and in both events the children receive gifts. The Disney Cruise Line experience includes multiple princesses whereas the tea experience at the Grand Floridian only included Princess Aurora.
The Royal Court Tea was one of our top Disney experiences ever. Our group only had about 25 participants so the children each received individual attention. We also enjoyed the musical theater element. I noticed that some of the actors in the event were also in the Broadway show on the ship later that week on the ship so I suspect they are equity actors. It was evident they were very talented.
I would suggest due to the price of the event to try it at least once but it may not be something you do each trip. We also found Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reservations the same day which I highly recommend. Most of the children who attended the event were dressed in princess or prince outfits.
The Royal Court Tea is a unique experience not to be missed on your next Disney Cruise.
