“Encanto” Sing-along Coming to Disney+ Friday
Finally just stop talking about Bruno after this weekend’s big BAFTA win? Well, be prepared to not only talk about him but sing along wtih him too. Just in time for the weekend, Disney+ announced yesterday that the incredibly popular film, “Encanto,” will premiere in sing-along version on the streaming service on Friday.

“Welcome to the family Madrigal” begins the preview with Mirabel inviting viewers to meet her mostly-magical family. “Encanto” becomes the first film on the streaming platform to receive a sing-along version. The film’s soundtrack still sits at Number 1 on the Billboard album chart, a position that it has held onto for the last ten weeks.
Visionary song-writer Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the energetic and emotional soundtrack that climbed to the top of the charts not only due to the film’s success but also a series of trending sounds on social media. With a score composed by Germaine Franco, the film also boast a Hot 100 single, “We Don’t Talk about Bruno,” which only recently slipped to the second spot on that list.
According to a recent New York Times article, “Encanto” currently sold the “equivalent of just under one million sales in the United States, according to MRC Data.” It continues to beat out a number of pop culture icons for the top album spot, including the Weeknd, Kodak Black, Morgan Wallen and Gunna.
More Sing-Along Versions Headed to Disney+
In the future, Disney+ hopes to issue a number of sing-along versions to other fan-favorite Disney films, including “Frozen,” “Frozen 2,” and “Beauty and the Beast.” For those of us who grew up following the bouncing ball of the Disney sing-a-long song VHS tapes, this new releases definitely offer quite a bit of nostalgia alongside the family fun.
