Cold Front, Storms Move Toward Orlando This Weekend
Ponchos, layers, and coats required? Oh my! The weather this weekend for the Orlando area certainly doesn’t scream the Spring Break escape that many visitors hope for on a trip to Central Florida. Despite near-record highs over the past couple of weeks, the area braces for more rain and a swift drop to cold temperatures over the next couple days.
Threat for strong to severe storms today is highest north of our area, but for tomorrow? Most of our area under a level 2 out of 5 threat for severe weather, or a scattered risk for strong to severe storms.

Luckily, the majority of the rain will stay north of Orlando today, giving the area a much-needed few hours to dry out. Storms this week dumped epic amounts of water, flooding Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios at varying points.

Guests going to Walt Disney World Resort tomorrow will want to prepare for all of the elements. Storms, high winds, and then a sudden drop to cold temperatures means lots of layers, a change of clothes and maybe even a change of shoes to help weather the storm, literally.

The change to cold does not last long with low temperatures hovering in the high 30s on Saturday night and into Sunday morning before returning to normalcy on Monday.
Yep. Winter returns for just one more day! Probably time to cover the plants in our NW zones again… pic.twitter.com/kgmNsK6aRd

At least with Sunday’s change to Daylight Savings Time, we can spring ahead into relatively normal temperatures for this time of year quickly and hope that the heavy storms dissipate over the week as well.
