FIRST LOOK: Red Dragon Spice Traders Menu at Disneyland Resort’s Lunar New Year Festival
If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog you’ll know that Greg and Elyssa are currently at Disney California Adventure checking out the Lunar New Year Festival! We been sharing with you some of the awesome character encounters including Mulan, Mushu, Mickey and Minnie and the Three Little Pigs and now we’ve worked up an appetite. Let’s start our culinary tour at the Red Dragon Spice Traders!
This eatery has a whole host of awesome items that we’re eager to try!
On the menu you’ll find:
- Red Dragon Spice Traders
- Spicy Three-Cup Chicken – Served on a bed of Jasmine Rice
- Impossible Lion’s Head Meatballs- mini Plant-Based Pork Meatballs served with Cabbage and Wine Reduction
- Mickey Purple Sweet Potato Macaron – Red Macaron filled with Purple Sweet Potato Buttercream with a Creme Fraiche Center
- Dancing Firecracker – Pineapple Juice, Guava Puree, Spicy Honey Syrup, Hibiscus Syrup and Line Juice
The queuing area is all set up!

Since Elyssa is a vegetarian, she decided to try the Impossible Lion’s Head Meatballs.
They also opted for the Sweet Potato Macaron which we have to say may just be the pretties Lunar New Year treat this year!
Let’s start with this sweet treat first!. The Macaron is a beautiful raspberry hue.
The outside was crispy with a soft crunch outside and a softer middle (all the things you’d want from a macaron.)
Inside you’ll find the macaron piped high with sweet potato filling. the buttercream and crème fraiche give it the sweet potato a light sweet taste!
We definitely enjoyed this treat right down to the gold painted strip on the front – So pretty!
Here’s a closer look at the Impossible Lion’s Head Meatballs!
We had some cabbage and spring onions served with ours.
The Shaoxing Wine Reduction gave the whole dish and exotic yet delicious flavor!
We definitely recommend treats served here so pick up those Sip and Savor cards and head over to Red Dragon during your Lunar New Year visit!
