Magic Kingdom Closing Early Tomorrow for Cast Event
Every year (except last year), Walt Disney World Resort closes its flagship theme park, the Magic Kingdom, early to honor a collection of exceptional cast members. This year, Magic Kingdom will close early on two seperate occasions to host honorees nomiated both this year and last year.
Tomorrow brings the first of the two days. The Magic Kingdom will close at 4:30 p.m. Tomorrow evening’s event honors those who received awards for outstanding service in 2020. Last year’s celebration found itself on hold due to the continuing coronavirus pandemic and the related park capacity limitations and protocols.
On Tuesday, February 8th, the “most magical place on Earth” will also close at 4:30 p.m. That evening invites cast members to commemorate their 2021 service achievements.
Honoring Cast Member Service
Walt Disney World Resort marked a number of incredible service milestones late last year. With the beginning of the 50th anniversary celebration on October 1st, Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle acknowledged the incredible serivce of the #Classof1971. The group began their careers with the park upon its opening.
“Meet the ‘Class of 1971’ – Disney Cast Members who began their Disney careers 50 years ago in 1971 and still work at Walt Disney World today! Their contributions over the past 50 years mark a true dedication to creating magic for our Guests and inspiring their fellow Cast Members who have had the honor of working alongside them. To honor and celebrate this milestone, the group recently got together ahead of October 1 kick-off of ‘The World’s Most Magical Celebration’ for a historic photo and morning filled with magic, mementos and keepsakes. Current Walt Disney World Ambassadors, Ali Manion and Raevon Redding (pictured back row at far left and far right), also joined in the historic photo,” stated the Disney Institute in a Facebook post on Sept. 25, 2021.
Congratulations to those honored in this year’s festivities for their hard work and dedication to making magic for guests at Walt Disney World Resort over the past two years.
