RunDisney Racer Tries to Sweep the Dopey Challenge
This weekend (January 5-9, 2022) is the runDisney marathons at Walt Disney World. Accordingly, a runDisney racer attempts to win the Dopey Challenge!
All of us at @WFTV are rooting to see some history from Brittany Charboneau at the @rundisney marathon weekend.⁰⁰She's looking to sweep the #DopeyChallenge. Brittany’s already won the 5K and 10K. My favorite part is she's got a different costume for all four races. pic.twitter.com/rhCmsM4Yra

The Dopey Challenge
RunDisney added the Dopey Challenge to its marathon weekend in 2014. The Dopey Challenge entails participating in all four races during the entire weekend; the races include the 5K, 10K, half marathon, and full marathon.
Well, Brittany Charboneau aims to WIN all four races! The good news is…she’s already won the first two races this weekend at Walt Disney World.
All Eyes on Brittany
Brittany Charboneau is a professional runner from Colorado. Indeed, her goal is hefty, but will she really be the first person to sweep the Dopey Challenge?
Brittany says, “It would be awesome to win all four. But I think my bigger goal is if…I walked away from each being like, ‘I just had a blast. I did my race plan.’ I ran for myself — that’s why I’m here is just to kick my year off running with this. This is for me because I love Disney.”
Running With Character
It’s obvious she is a Disney fan, simply due to her costume choices. Hence, this runDisney racer comes prepared as Elsa from Frozen and Frozen II, Joy and Bing Bong from Inside Out, and Cruella DeVille from 101 Dalmations and Cruella.
Regarding her costumes, Brittany said, “For the half marathon, I have a wig. For the full marathon, I will spray paint my hair half black and half white, hoping that this humidity holds up.”
Disney Magic at Every Mile
Disney characters cheer the runners on at every mile marker. Also, the racers get to run throughout the Walt Disney World Parks…this creates a very memorable experience.
However, there is extra magic since this race is during Walt Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration. Not to mention that the race has returned!
“It’s a big deal that it’s happening and that we’re back in person. This is such an amazing time…I feel like extra special and extra sparkly, which I mean, that just makes me even happier,” Brittany said.
Well Wishes!
So, MickeyBlog definitely wishes Brittany and the other runDisney participants the best of luck as they finish up the weekend. We are proud of your efforts and hard work!
