PHOTOS: Tron Walkway Nearing Completion, and Nearing Space Mountain!
There seem to be many months between any noticeable Tron construction progress, so when we see something starting to take shape, we get excited!
Yesterday at Magic Kingdom, we took a ride on the Peoplemover to get the closest possible look at the construction.
Some progress has definitely been made since our last update, as the curved walkway that will lead guests up to the attraction’s entrance looks to be nearly complete structurally.
The curved walkway will take guests from Tomorrowland’s ground level up into the show building, but they’ll have to walk on a (pretty narrow) section of pathway next to Space Mountain’s gift shop to get there.
We snapped this photo of the construction wall next to said gift shop to show you where the Tron walkway will connect with the already existing Tomorrowland, and the distance between the two was getting shorted by the minute.
Crews were actively working on the walkway when we checked in, but this latest progress hasn’t given us any major clues as to when the attraction might open. I’m still guessing 2023, but those of you holding out hope for a 2022 opening date may get your wish…but not until very late in the year. What do you think? When will Tron officially open at Magic Kingdom? Leave me a comment and let me know!
