BREAKING: Magic Kingdom Tracks Derail Parade Float
The Main Street U.S.A. trolley tracks are famous for catching unsuspecting guests in their grooves. Today, though, they tangled up another unsuspecting victim: the present float that features just before Santa Claus in Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime parade.
The float, bursting with holiday cheer, found itself wedged in the tracks as it rounded the curve in front of City Hall, just meters away from its final moments of the parade route.
As one would expect, a plethora of Walt Disney World cast members rushed to rescue the float.
Eventually, another Magic Kingdom cast member approached the float to tow it from its position. As he did, the crowd cheered for the rescue of Santa’s precious cargo.
Cast members also received a round of applause from the guests packed to see the attraction. Today’s presentation of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade marked the first time that it traveled Main Street U.S.A. during regular park hours.
Typically, it only features during Very Merriest After Hours (and previously, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party).
The parade also marked an incredible milestone for “the most magical place on Earth,” as it was the first full daytime parade to make its way through the Magic Kingdom since March of 2020 when the resort closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Aside from the momentous occasion and special treat of the parade performance, guests at today’s noon parade will certainly not forget this grand finale.
Magic Kingdom visitors can catch Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade twice daily from. now until December 29th at 12 p.m. or 3:45 p.m. as well as on December 30th and 31st at 12 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
As with all parades at Disney parks, guests will want to snag a seat early for best viewing or use Disney Genie+ to secure a castle view of the festive extravaganza.
