The spell-binding celebration of an abundance of both classic Disney characters and new heroes and heroines began on March 9, 2014. It made its last trip through the park on March 12, 2020 due to the impending park closure during the pandemic.

The parade requires a large number of cast members due to the abundance of characters featured as well as the number of performers that accompany each scene. Beginning with a celebration of all things Disney royalty, the Festival of Fantasy Parade then takes guests through a number of stories, including those of the adventurous and boundary-pushing Rapunzel and Merida, inquisitive Ariel, daring Peter Pan, and the heroing tale of Prince Philip as he takes on Maleficient in “Sleeping Beauty.”
The parade whisks guests away into a festival of, well, fantasy to conclude with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and a host of Disney favorites perched on colorful floats as well as marching their way down the whimsical streets of Magic Kingdom.
Often an excellent way to take a 3 p.m. breather, no return date has been announced. A number of Disney entertainment cast members were recalled recently, based on a variety of TikTok videos made by Disney cast members excited for their returns.
Parades also made their long-awaited return to Magic Kingdom recently during Very Merriest After Hours as Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade once again magically captured the hearts of guests there recently.
One thing is certain: We cannot wait to wave to our favorite characters and dance along to the festival once it returns sometime next year.
