Filming Is Happening For Disney Christmas Special and MickeyBlog is There
We’ll good morning Disney friends! If you’re not in the holiday spirit you soon will be! MickeyBlog got up bright and early to head over to Magic Kingdom for a special taping of Disney’s Holiday Special for 2021!
We arrived well before the crowds.
As you can see the Plaza Gardens area of Magic Kingdom is a bustle of activity.
A stage was set up in front of the Partners Statue where lots of beautiful Christmas trees were put up for the occasion.
A small area was roped off for invited guests this morning to stand in front of the stage!
We were so excited to be among them!
We did a lot of waiting while the crews got set up.
You can see the standing room only area top right.
Cast members did an awesome job of wrangling the crowd this morning.
A couple of our MickeyTravels agents even had a chance to mingle with Julianne Hough who has hosting duties this year.
Here’s another picture of Hough posing with the castle and beautiful blooms as the backdrop. She looked amazing!
Dancers and musicians took to the stage.
It’s almost time for a musical performance!

This performance is going to be perfect with the Cinderella Castle as its backdrop.
We are waiting in anticipation.

And, it’s time for a musical performance.
Do you recognize the man in the center!? It’s none other than Darren Criss!
He looked absolutely fantastic in his golden suit jacket and matching boots!
He took us through a wonderful holiday theme number but we don’t want to give too much away!
All we can say is that it was an absolutely show stopping performance and we felt so honored to be there!
There was so much energy in the crowd that you almost forgot that it was early morning!

Darren even had a gold guitar to match his outfit.
The performance was amazing. Dancers, musicians and Darren himself brought so much holiday magic to the park this morning.
Trust us when we say that you are not going to want to miss the holiday special when it airs later this month!
For those unfamiliar, Darren Criss is best known for his work on the sensational TV Show Glee as well as The Assassination of Gianni Versace: An American Crime Story.
Criss also has Broadway credits under his belt including Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
During his time on Glee his rendition of “Teenage Dream” became the fastest selling Glee Single and even reach number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
The official title of this year’s holiday special is The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration.
It will officially air on Sunday, November 28th at 7pm ET on ABC.
Throughout the week, other performances have been filmed included numbers by Brett Eldredge and Chance the Rapper.
Trust us when we say that you’ll definitely want to set those DVR’s and mark those calendars as these performances are not-to-be-missed.
After the performance we managed to catch another Disney talent hitting the stage…
It is none other than Kristin Chenoweth!
She looked absolutely radiant in a white gown and seeing her sing in person was an emotional experience.
