BREAKING NEWS: Main Entrance of Disney’s Polynesian Resort NOW OPEN!
Boy do we have something pretty exciting to share with you on this Friday afternoon!
Finally, after a lengthy refurbishment we are pleased to report that the main entrance of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is NOW OPEN!
We shared the news with you earlier this week that the Poly had opened the monorail platform on the second level.
Today was the first day that guests to the Polynesian were able to walk through the main doors of this deluxe resort property.
It was such an awesome feeling to walk past the lagoon once again!
Here’s the view from the lobby.
The removal of construction walls etc. meant that the sunlight could once again pour into the lobby from the double doors!
We suspect all of this pleased the tiki gods!
The outside of the Polynesian is simply stunning.
The new port cochere features a thatched roof and multicolored slats.
This manages to convey the Mid-Century Modern and Island feel that the resort is known for.
It was so gratifying to see this area of the Poly open. If you’ve been following along with us you’ll know that we’ve been sharing weekly construction updates since construction first started on the property.
Though the reopened entrance still has the same general vibe of the original is is definitely brighter.
We aren’t sure if work in the area is completely finished or if there are smaller projects still to be done but we’ll keep you posted.
This is just one of the many exciting changes that happened recently at the Poly.
All of the guest rooms also received a makeover inspired by Disney’s film Moana.
That’s why, in our opinion, there’s never been a better time to stay at the Poly!
Now let’s pop back to take one last look at the tropical surrounds that really give arriving guests that “WOW!” factor!
It really does evoke the feeling of being on a tropical island!
Listing to the tranquil water is so relaxing we could stand here all day!
We were wondering what this area of the Poly looked like and are glad to see that it retained all of its beauty!
