Disney Wonder to Sail Once Again from California and Panama Canal, Changes to Itineraries and Policies Announced
Whoa! It’s been a busy morning with exciting Disney news! But, there’s even more excitement as Disney Cruise Line has just announced that the Disney Wonder will begin sailing again on October 1, 2021! The Disney Wonder restart includes sailings from California as well as Panama Canal sailing departing on November 5, 2021.
September Disney Wonder Sailings
With October 1, 2021 being the official restart date of the Disney Wonder, the following two cruises have been cancelled:
- 2-night sailing on Sept. 24
- 5-night sailing on Sept. 26
If you were schedule to sail on either of these cruises and they have been paid in full, Disney Cruise Line is offering a 125% Future Cruise Credit. If you have not yet paid in full, you will receive a full voyage refund.
October Disney Wonder Sailings on the Disney Wonder COVID Requirements
When the Disney Wonder hits the waters again this October, all Guests ages 12 and older must be fully vaccinated. Guests ages 11 and younger are not required to be vaccinated but will have to provide proof of a negative COVID test take between 3 days and 24 hours prior to sailing.
Upon arrival to the cruise terminal on the day of your sailing, all Guests will be required to take a Disney Cruise Line-paid PCR COVID test.
Guests are permitted to disembark the Disney Wonder in ports of call without purchasing a Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure. However, if children in your party are vaccinated, you will only be permitted to explore the port of call by purchasing a Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure.
Disney Wonder Itinerary Changes from California
For Guests sailing on 4-night cruises from California on the Disney Wonder will be treated to a stop in Cabo San Lucas with two days at sea. The 3-night Disney Wonder itineraries from California will include a stop at Ensenada and one days at sea.
Here are other updates to Disney Wonder’s scheduled cruises from California aboard the Disney Wonder this October:
7-Night Itinerary Changes
- The October 1, 2021 sailing is now a 4-night cruise instead of 3 nights.
- The Disney Wonder will depart October 5 for a 3-night cruise.
- Guests will have from September 2 to 9 to contact Disney Cruise Line if they wish to cancel their October 1 sailing or opt in for the revised 4-night itinerary
- Guests will have from September 10 to 15 to modify their October 1 sailing
- On September 16, all standard cancellation fees will apply
- Guests who opt-in to stay with the new 4-night or 3-night sailing will be eligible for a $400 non-refundable onboard credit and the voyage fare and vacation protection plan will be adjusted and a 25% future discount will be awarded after sailing
- The Future Cruise Credit cannot be used on the cruise immediately following the original sailing or the maiden voyage of the Disney Wish. The discount can be applied to a future cruise that sets sail on or before September 30, 2022. The 25% bonus credit and the onboard credit can only be earned on the October 1 or 5 sailings.
- If you move your sailing, the voyage fare will be adjusted for the current fare of the new sailing. A discount nor onboard credit will be offered. If purchased, the vacation protection plan will be adjusted to the new cruise.
- If you decide to cancel, a full refund will be given. No onboard credit or discount will be offered and Disney will offer a full refund – including airfare and vacation protection plan – if they were booked directly through Disney Cruise Line.
5-Night Itinerary Changes
- The cruises on October 22 and October 31 have been changed to from 5-night cruises to 4-nights.
- Guests will have from September 2 to 9 to contact Disney Cruise Line if they wish to cancel their impacted sailing or opt in for the revised 4-night itinerary
- Guests will have from September 10 to 15 to modify their impacted sailing
- On September 16, all standard cancellation fees will apply
- Guests who opt-in to stay with the new 4-night cruise will be eligible for a $200 non-refundable onboard credit and the voyage fare and vacation protection plan will be adjusted and a 25% future discount will be awarded after sailing
- The Future Cruise Credit cannot be used towards the maiden voyage of the Disney Wish. The discount can be applied to a future cruise that sets sail on or before September 30, 2022.
- If you move your sailing, the voyage fare will be adjusted for the current fare of the new sailing. A discount nor onboard credit will be offered. If purchased, the vacation protection plan will be adjusted to the new cruise.
- If you decide to cancel, a full refund will be given. No onboard credit or discount will be offered and Disney will offer a full refund – including airfare and vacation protection plan – if they were booked directly through Disney Cruise Line.
Itineraries with No Changes
Those who are booked on the Disney Wonder for a 3-night or 4-night cruise between October 8 to October 27 will have no changes to their itinerary. However, the following policies will apply to these cruises:
November Panama Canal Sailing
The Panama Canal Sailing for the Disney Wonder that departs are November 5, 2021 will require all Guests to be fully vaccinated. This mean that those who are 11 and younger will not be permitted to cruise at this time on that itinerary.
All Guests will be administrated a Disney Cruise Line-paid PCR COVID test in the cruise terminal before boarding the Disney Wonder.
Important Updates to Panama Canal Cruises Aboard the Disney Wish
If you are scheduled on the Panama Canal Cruise aboard the Disney Wonder and someone in your party is 11 years old and under, the following applies:
- From September 2 to 14, Guests can cancel or modify their reservation
- By September 15, all children 11 years of age and under will need to be removed from the reservation
- If you remain on the same sailing, you will receive a 25% future discount. The discount cannot be applied towards 14-night Panama Canal of maiden voyage of the Disney Wish and must be used on a sailing departing on or before September 30, 2022.
- If you move your sailing, the fare will be adjusted to the new sailing. A 25% future discount will be available for future use* and the vacation protection plan will be adjusted to the new sailing. The discount cannot be applied towards 14-night Panama Canal of maiden voyage of the Disney Wish and must be used on a sailing departing on or before September 30, 2022.
Itinerary Change to Panama Canal Cruise
With today’s announcement, the itinerary for the 14-night Panama Canal Cruise has changed to a day at sea instead of a stop at Grand Cayman.
