‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Trailer Shows Off Four of the Sinister Six; Who Are The Other Two?
Marvel finally debut the teaser for their next, highly anticipated, Peter Parker story; the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer potentially shows off four of the Sinister Six; but where are the other two?
At the conclusion of Cinemacon, Sony finally gave fans what they had wanted; the Spider-Man: No Way Home teaser trailer that showed some incredible insight into what they can expect this December during the film’s exclusive theatrical release.
The teaser showed the fallout of Mysterio’s decision to out Peter Parker as Spider-Man, and the lengths he goes to in order to regain his secret and bring safety back to the people who love him most.
As many fans had assumed, it appears as though the legendary Sinister Six from the Spider-Man comics will make their long-awaited debut within the MCU; with Marvel brilliantly collecting different iterations of the characters that have been seen throughout the various Sony Spider-Man films.
The most obvious reveal in the trailer is the return of Alfred Molina’s Otto Octavious- known by his villainous name of Doc Oc.
Molina portrayed the character in the incredibly well-received Spider-Man 2 by the acclaimed director Sam Raimi; being widely regarded as one of the best performances of a villain in the history of the superhero film genre.
Joining Molina from the Raimi rogues gallery is none other than the incredibly menacing Green Goblin; likely portrayed by Willem Dafoe.
The Green Goblins signature bomb can be seen on the bridge in a very intentional shot from the trailer; with the memorable laugh provided by Willem Dafoe looming in the background of the scene.
Raimi’s films aren’t the only successful Spider-man adaptations, as Marvel is also pulling characters from Marc Webb’s run as director of his own two Sony Spider-Man films.
It appears that Electro, the main villain of Webb’s Amazing Spider-Man, will make an appearance in this film as well.
Reprising the role is Jaime Foxx, with this version, however, appearing more comic accurate; sporting the yellow lighting that is so attributable to the character.
It appears, within the trailer, that Electro is seen shooting his lighting at a giant hulking form; with many assuming that form is none other than Sandman.
Seen protecting a black suit Spider-Man, this is something that would be completely in character for the sympathetic villain from the Raimi universe.
Portrayed brilliantly by Thomas Haden Church; Sandman was a deeply moving character, as he represented the criminal mind that was driven to evil. for the sake of protecting and providing.
Another hidden character that fans have claimed to see is none other than the Lizard; with the monstrous reptile appearing to almost blindside the MCU’s Peter Parker.
Yet another villain from the Amazing Spider-Man films, Lizard is another sympathetic villain that played a similar role to Doc Oc and the vulture; characters with evil intentions, who were close to Peter Parker in everyday life.
If we count Doc Oc, Green Goblin, Lizard, and Electro then we know the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer shows off four of the sinister six.
Where are the other two? We think we may have an answer.
We know Vulture is still very much a factor in the MCU; with the after-credits scene of Homecoming clearly indicating his desire for revenge against Spider-Man.
The final member of the Sinister is connected to Merchandise that we’ve already seen released for No Way Home.
That character is none other than Mysterio.
Shirts that display public support for Mysterio has us a little hesitant to believe that character is actually dead.
The circumstances surrounding the release of the video indicate that the character may not have suffered the demise that Peter assumes he did.
It is also very important to note that Mysterio himself is less the product of one man, and more the product of an entire team of people who had been wronged.
Mysterio may not just be alive, he could be the mastermind behind the team as a whole; bringing together Spider-Mans most fearsome foes to finally bring an end to the web-slinger.
