Long-Time Voice of Goofy Bill Farmer to Be Inducted Into High School Hall of Fame
Gawrsh! Bill Farmer, the actor and comedian who has lent his voice to Goofy for over thirty years, is to be inducted into his high school Hall of Fame this Fall.
Farmer attended Pratt High School in Kansas, where he graduated in 1971. He is set to be honored as an alumni in the school’s Greenback Hall of Fame.
According to PrattTribune, the Hall of Fame was ‘set up to recognize and honor individuals, alumni, and contributors who have made amazing contributions to the Greenback traditions of grit, team, valor, respect, and passion in our world, state, and/or local community’.
Farmer first voiced Goofy in 1987, and has been helping bring magic to the ‘Fab Five’ character ever since. He will be one of three inductees being given Pratt’s recognition this year, in what we’re sure will be a great honor for him.
As well as Goofy, Farmer voice has also featured in an astonishing number of other Disney feature films and television series since the 1990s. Beauty and the Beast, Brother Bear, Home on the Range, Cars, and Monsters, Inc. are just a small number of his film credentials, with Amphibia, Vampirina, and Jake and the Never Land Pirates are some of his television performances with Disney.
Most recently, alongside his performances as Goofy, Farmer was the voice of Doc in Disney’s The 7D from 2014 to 2016. He has also been the host of It’s a Dog’s Life with Bill Farmer, a live-action series that first aired on Disney+ in 2020.
Last month, Farmer took to Instagram to announce that Goofy will be honored with a ‘Fab 50’ character statue for the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Walt Disney World – yet another incredible achievement. Farmer was also awarded the honor of Disney Legend in 2009.
The induction ceremony will be held at Pratt High School on September 24th, accompanied by an inaugural reception. Farmer and his fellow inductees will also be honored at the half-time of the Greenback football game which will also take place later that evening.
Congratulations, Bill Farmer!
