Epic New Character Posters Revealed for “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”
The newest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has nearly landed! We have seen a lot of new promo flying around for the highly-anticipated Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings recently.
Today a series of brand-new character posters were revealed to help raise the hype. Let’s take a look…
Each of these new posters are dramatic, atmospheric and serious-looking headshots, individually featuring six main characters from the upcoming movie. The first, of course, is a shot of the eponymous man himself: Shang-Chi. Simu Liu portrays the newest MCU hero, and we can’t wait to see him in action.
From his social media, it would appear that Liu is very much enjoying his newfound association with the Walt Disney Company – and has even been spotted in the parks on a few occasions!
The second poster features the Katy, Shang-Chi’s close friend and character we can’t wait to find out more about. Katy is portrayed by Awkwafina, who seems to be popping up in all kinds of Disney movies lately.
Not only is will she be Katy in Shang-Chi, but Awkwafina has also leant her voice to Sisu in Raya and the Last Dragon, and will also star as Scuttle in Disney’s upcoming, live-action The Little Mermaid.
Next up is a battle-ready Wenwu, aka The Mandarin. Portrayed by Tony Leung, you can read all about this character in our informative post here.
This fourth poster features Xialing, Shang-Chi’s estranged sister. She is portrayed by Meng’er Zhang.
The next poster features the wise and protective Jiang Nan, played by Michelle Yeoh. Yeoh previously starred alongside Awkwafina in the Warner Bros. romantic comedy film Crazy Rich Asians.
The final poster features a dangerous-looking, masked death dealer. We don’t like the look of that blade!
Earlier in the week we speculated as to whether Disney would choose to delay the premiere of Shang-Chi, what with the concerning rise of COVID-19 cases in the US. However, these new posters confirm the movie is still set for a September 3rd release – so we won’t have to wait much longer. The movie will also be released in 3D, and IMAX.
