VIDEO: Questions With The Cast Of Disney’s Jungle Cruise
It’s a love-in, as the cast Of Disney’s Jungle Cruise talk about filming the movie…
I just watched Disney’s Jungle Cruise, I will vouch for the adventuresome joyride presented by the popcorn flick. The word fun is on my lips because that remains my biggest impression of Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt’s summer tentpole flick.
However, I always wonder exactly how real the camaraderie is behind the scenes. Because onscreen, all of the folks involved with Disney’s Jungle Cruise look like they had a blast.
The official Disney+ YouTube account provided more evidence to back up that claim, when they posted “All Aboard Disney’s Jungle Cruise” on July 31.
Emily is Blunt
The hosts of What’s Up, Disney+ — Jenny Lorenzo and Andre Meadows — grilled the cast about their characters and their co-stars.
“I love her attitude towards things,” said Emily Blunt, who plays Dr. Lily Houghton. “She walks into every day with a sense of hope and aspiration.
“And I think she wasn’t afraid of just throwing caution to the wind and leave the fact that there were a lot of constraints around being a woman in 1917.
“She kind of leaves [those constraints] in the dust,” she said.
Dwayne is Frank
Sometimes that dust ended up on Dwayne Johnson’s alter ego Frank Wolf, but he doesn’t seem to mind.
“I love the opportunity to make a movie that was based on something that’s been beloved for decades. And also, from a character standpoint, [playing] something that was a departure for me.”
Johnson alluded to the multi-faceted Wolf, who is not always telling the whole truth to his shipmates and passengers.
“I am more slick, and a shyster, and a con man, and can’t be trusted. But I’m trying to be a little charming to get my way and looking for the quick buck and the next buck.
“And then to work with this one,” said a smirking Rock while throwing a thumb in the direction of Blunt.
Sartorial Splendor with Jack
Jack Whitehall was equally effervescent regarding his role, playing MacGregor Houghton.
“I absolutely fell in love with this character,” said Whitehall. “From the moment I read MacGregor in the script, I loved his sartorial splendor. I loved the fact that he was slightly disdainful the entire expedition.”
However, you won’t be disdainful of Disney’s Jungle Cruise. Especially after you watch the video below.
