Still here? Great.
More Loki Coming to Disney+
We now know the answer to the question we posed earlier: More Mobius in store for Marvel?
Why yes, yes there is.
In fact, there’s more for everyone on Loki to do, in fact. The post-credit scene in the season finale of Loki on Disney+ confirmed it with the message,
“Loki will return in Season 2,” stamped on Loki’s file.
Loki in Doctor Strange
Of course, Skyler Shuler over at TheDisInsider.com already did his homework and went a step farther, informing us:
What is most interesting about this news though, is according to The Hollywood Reporter, we will see Loki again before the second season of his hit series. Per the trade, Hiddleston’s Loki character is also expected to also appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Marvel Studios has yet to formally confirm his involvement.
Multiverse Confirmed in Spider-Man?
Moreover, The Hollywood Reporter’s Lesley Goldberg reported:
The multiverse-busting finale also seems to have paved the way for the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home as it’s been rumored that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, along with former key villains played by Jamie Foxx (Electro) and Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus), will appear in Marvel’s December release.
Both Hollywood-watching sites also point to another connection with the multiverse happening via Marvel’s What If…?
I mean, all of this is happening before I even finish my first cup of coffee. [sips]
Channeling my inner Owen Wilson, all I have to say is, “Wow…”
Finale Thoughts
Now, having just watched the finale, I will say it was NOT my favorite episode.
The freewheeling plot we’ve enjoyed previous to this chapter seemed to slow and screech to a halt, even as the multiverse exploded. I had a similar feeling at the end of the WandaVision series. Instead of an open world, where the writers got to play, there was a feeling of inevitability to the episode, like they had to get to a destination and then get off.
Now, that may be because I devour anything and everything posted about the MCU, spoilers be damned. But I did like the “OMG what is coming this week…” feel of the first five episodes.
However, I do hope that after the tie-in with the new Dr. Strange happens, Loki takes us to new and interesting places throughout the Marvel timeline in Season 2.
