‘Ohana Breakfast Is Back and MickeyBlog is There!
Aloha, Disney friends! We’ve got a very special treat for you this morning!
One of our favorite breakfast spots has just reopened – ‘Ohana!
For those unfamiliar, this family-style dining location is found at Disney’s Polynesian Resort.
A breakfast here includes all of the essentials and some extra special Disney treats.
It’s the perfect way to start your day before heading to the theme parks!
You’ll find ‘Ohana on the second level of the Great Ceremonial House at the Poly.
It’s on the monorail line making it super convenient! (Though the monorail station is currently under construction at the Poly just now!)
Upon arrival, you can scan the QR code to let the cast members know that your party has arrived.
Guests can also use the self check-in to see if there’s any last-minute availability.
Once signed in, you can sit in the nearby waiting area and cast members at the podium will call you name when you’re table is ready.
A highlight of every ‘Ohana visit for those lucky enough to arrive at opening time is the warm greeting you get from the cast.
All the servers come to the front of the restaurant to officially welcome guests.
Let’s just say this morning that the cast was VERY happy to be there after the restaurant’s long hiatus.
Greg shot a couple of videos that rally capture the spirit and comradery that you’ll find at ‘Ohana!
It was so touching to receive such a warm welcome this morning!
This is one of those magical Disney moments that guests will be talking about long after your vacation is done!
Once the restaurant had officially opened for the day, we waited to be seated.
We couldn’t wait to get to our table to tuck into the delicious breakfast goodies!
Though character dining at this location is on hiatus at the moment, traditionally Stitch, Lilo, Mickey, Goofy and other members of the gang would be there to interact with guests.
Even with things slightly different at ‘Ohana right now, it should still remain on your Disney World must-do list based on the cuisine alone!
FINALLY! It’s time to head to our table!
As you can see from the image above, the cast members all line up.
They’re there to greet you as you’re walking to your table. How awesome is that!?
Like the Polynesian itself, the dining room is rich on island theming.
You’ll find ornate carvings and lots of traditional details while still maintaining that Mid-Century Modern theme that the Poly is known for!
One reason that guests keep coming back to ‘Ohana is the Pog Juice. Instead of just orange juice this delightful beverage is a mix of orange juice, guava juice, and passion fruit juice.
Trust me when I say that it’s delicious!
All of the dishes are brought family-style to your table starting with seasonal fruit.
This is followed up with the restaurant’s famous Pineapple Coconut Breakfast Bread.
It isn’t long before breakfast comes out starting with the Mickey Waffles!
As you can see, all of the items are brought out in skillets with enough for the entire family to share.
If you look closely you can see not only Mickey Waffles…
but ‘Ohana also has Stitch Waffles!
It isn’t long before other breakfast goodies start to arrive.
On the right you’ll see the vegan sausage made in house for those that prefer a plant-based diet!
There’s also a big skillet of breakfast goodies which includes:
- Scrambled Eggs
- Pork Breakfast Sausage Links
- Hawaiian-style Ham topped with Pineapple Compote
- Fried Island-style Potatoes
- Biscuits
Make way, make way for Moana! Guests also have the option of ordering smoothies as well as adult libations for an extra fee.
Our MickeyBloggers this morning opted for the Moana smoothie!
Not only is it a thing of beauty, but it’s positively delicious!
This drink was made up of a vanilla smoothie base with flavors of Watermelon, Mango, Guava and Ginger.
The whole thing is topped with Whipped Cream, Edible Flowers and a Moana Chocolate Disc. This cost an additional $6.49.
Speaking of cost, a meal at ‘Ohana will set you back $25 per adult and $14 per child not including tax and gratuity.
This is one of Walt Disney World’s hottest breakfast spots so we recommend making your reservations in advance.
Ohana breakfast is served daily from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM!
As we’ve previously reported here at MickeyBlog, the Polynesian Resort is undergoing some construction at the moment.
The monorail station is being reimagined as are the guest rooms. With that in mind you may encounter some construction.
Before we leave we pay our respects to the tiki gods as to not anger them and then we’re off!
It was so nice to be back at the Poly and a HUGE thank you to all of the cast members who made our morning visit so memorable! Readers are encouraged to keep following along with us here at MickeyBlog for more Disney-related news and updates.
