Recap of All of Disney’s Live-Action Princesses!
Here at MickeyBlog HQ we love Disney royalty and with Disney’s recent studios push toward live-action offerings, many of our favorite Disney princesses are being reimagined!
With that in mind, and with new films like Snow White, Aladdin 2, The Little Mermaid and Disenchanted currently in the pipeline, we wanted to give you a who’s who when it comes to live-action princesses.
Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine
Disney’s live-action Aladdin was a massive success earning over a billion at the box office. Thanks in part to Naomi Scott’s stunning turn as Jasmine (I mean who can forget her astonishing number”Speechless”) there’s an Aladdin 2 sequel currently in the works!

Amy Adams as Giselle
Let’s take a minute to pay tribute to Amy Adams, our OG live-action princess! Adams played Giselle in Disney’s Enchanted which is both live-action and cartoon. Here incredible performance as Giselle and incredible musical numbers like Happy Working Song have made the film a cult classic. The original cast has come together for a sequel called Disenchanted which is currently shooting in Ireland.
Rachel Zegler as Snow White
We’ve got some exciting casting ews about one of Disney’s upcoming live-action action releases- Snow White. The news broke this morning that Rachel Zegler whos is starring as Maria in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming release of West Side Story has just been cast in the role of Snow White in Disney upcoming adaptation.
Halle Bailey as Ariel
Halle Bailey is ready to explore the fathoms below. Disney is currently shooting a live-action The Little Mermaid and Halle Bailey will take on the role of Ariel! Bailey is an actress, singer, and writer best known for her role in the Freeform television series, Grown-ish (2018). She also wrote the song “Warrior”, for the 2018 film, A Wrinkle in Time.
Idina Menzel as Nancy Tremaine
Who can forget Idina Menzel getting her “happily ever after” at the end of Enchanted where she played the role of Nancy Tremaine, Robert Phillips significant other before Giselle arrived on the scene. Nancy would eventually get promoted to Disney royalty when she got hitched to James Marsden’s character Prince Edward! We’re told that both Menzel and Marsden will be returning for the Disenchanted thus solidifying.her royal status.
Elle Fanning – Princess Aurora
Who can forget Elle Fannings take on the beloved Aurora otherwise known as Sleeping Beauty in both Maleficent films. She brought us a princess that is generous and kind while being strong and idependent!
Emma Watson – Beauty and the Beast
Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast would start the live-action trend and its no wonder given Watson’s incredible performance as Belle. She left her wizarding wand behind to truly embrace the role of this bookish princess. We’ve also heard a rumor that Watson may make a cameo in the upcoming Gaston and Lefou series coming to Disney+. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we’ve heard more!
