Social Distancing Markers Removed From EPCOT Entrance
Earlier this morning, we here at MickeyBlog shared the news with you that the theme parks are starting to wind back their social distancing measures.
We shared some images with you of the removal of social distancing markers at Magic Kingdom this morning and now we’re over at EPCOT where it’s more of the same.
These images show the empty area of the entrance that used to be home to the AdventHealth temperature screening checkpoint.
As you can see, the tent has been removed from this common area as temperature checks are no longer required.
In addition as we approach the entrance to the park you can see that social distancing markers no longer appear in the queuing area.
All that’s left of them is the adhesive on left on the walkways.
As you also may have heard, Disney has moved to a new facemask policy that does not require their use outdoors. Guests must still wear them when inside or in line for a ride.
It looks very different without physical distancing being enforced at the entrance gates. This has eliminated the gridlock that would sometimes build up.
It definitely made entering and exiting the parks much easier.
Though we didn’t hop on any rides here at EPCOT, we did report earlier today that the rolling back of social distancing rules is also applying to attractions.
At the Carousel of Progress in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom, guests were no longer required to skip rows or have empty seats in between parties.
With more and more Americans getting vaccinated every day and with new COVID cases on the decline, we expect Disney to reduce restrictions even further in the days ahead.
This may include doing away with the facemask policy altogether (which some are saying is coming to Universal theme parks this week.)
We may also see the return of visitor perks. There is currently a lot of buzz circulating that Disney may be gearing up to bring the FastPass system back as capacity at the parks continues to increase.
At the moment we can’t confirm either of these rumors.
However, when you see changes like this where Disney has gone through and removed all of the adhesive ground markers used for social distancing, you can’t help but think more changes are on their way.
