EPCOT Tested Harmonious Fireworks Last Night
Thursday was a big day in and around the BoardWalk area of Walt Disney World. First, Boardwalk Ice Cream opened and MickeyBlog was the first customer served!
Then, starting around 11:00 PM, guests on the International Gateway bridge were treated to a surprise! Epcot tested Harmonious fireworks inside Epcot. We have the video below!
Zach Riddley Speaks
Imagineer Zach Riddley shared via Disney Parks Blog, “Once complete, “Harmonious” will be one of the largest nighttime spectaculars we’ve ever produced. We’re busy setting the stage of this innovative toolkit, preparing each of the show’s five floating platforms to take its place on World Showcase Lagoon.”
Ridley continued, “Positioned like a compass, these platforms house the primary show equipment for “Harmonious,” and on the recently-placed center platform stands an iconic six-story-tall central ring structure, supporting a high-density water curtain, moving lights, fountains and more.”
Disney has been testing the barges, arms, etc. during the day and we’ve had glimpses of what we can expect.
We previously shared this amazing video of Harmonious barges being tested in World Showcase Lagoon. Look at the water spraying from the arms!
When Will it Debut?
While we don’t know when Harmonious will debut, it has been described as one of the largest nighttime spectaculars Disney has ever produced.
Harmonious will eventually take over the nighttime skies in Epcot. Epcot Forever was short lived after a long run of many people’s favorite nighttime show, Illuminations.
VIDEO: Fireworks Testing Last Night
As you’ll see in the video below, several different types of fireworks were tested. While we did hear music playing in the background, it was difficult to make out exactly what the soundtrack was.
One thing of note, various colors were displayed in the fireworks, however, we did see a theme consistent with the colors of the 50th anniversary celebration for Walt Disney World. Check it out for yourself!
