Could Facemask Restrictions Be Lifted Soon In Orange County, Florida?
As more people receive the COVID-19 vaccination, local governments are starting to look at ways to relax some of the health & safety and social distancing policies put into place last year. Just last week we shared the details that Disney World was easing up on its stance on Mandatory temperature checks based on input from the county.
Today, according to a recent piece on Fox35 it looks like Face Mask restrictions are also under consideration in Orange County, Florida. So will Disney follow suit?

Mayor Jerry Demings has reported that 47% of Orange County residents age 16 and older have received the COVID vaccination. When the county gets to 50% masks are no longer required outdoors. The Mayor said that he expects the county to get to 50% later this week.
However, the Mayor is being transparent in saying that it may be quite a while before the order is lifted to eliminate the need for a mandatory face mask policy while indoors. This is not able to happen until the county reaches a 70% vaccination rate which is still a ways off.
What Does This Mean For Disney Guests?
Disney has already made it known that though it receives guidance from local officials regarding the recommended health and safety procedures, it may stick to its own set of rules. In some instances Disney has opted to continue to maintain the more strict social distancing requirements in the interest of guest safety.
With a majority of Disney attractions having both indoor and outdoor elements the theme parks may err on the side of caution and not rethink their facemask policy until Orange County inches closer to the 70% mark Mayor Demings spoke about above.
