Who’s After Obi-Wan in Disney+’s Kenobi Series?
Obi-Wan Kenobi isn’t just meditating on Tatooine in the upcoming Disney+ series….
One of the greatly underdeveloped subcultures of Star Wars mythology is the Imperial Inquisitorius.
First introduced in Star Wars: Rebels and then explored in comics, video games, and novels, the Jedi-hunting, baby-stealing, sometimes cursed Force-wielders are some of the most troubling peeps in the whole Saga.
Ahsoka Tano fights a pair in the below clip from Rebels.
And recent speculation puts an Inquisitor in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus.
That.
Rocks.
The Inquisitors Are Coming
Full disclosure, I actually watched this episode of Steele Wars, and I totally spaced (get it?) on this news.
But Dempsey Pillot (who has the coolest name on the planet) did not and reported on it in DisInsider:
Kessel Run Transmissions‘ very own Corey Van Dyke, there is already some speculation as to who she might play. Appearing on another Star Wars-centric podcast, Steele Wars, Van Dyke said that he heard from one of his sources that [Moses] Ingram would be playing an Inquisitor in the series.”
But don’t punch it just yet.
Only One Source
Corey himself said, “This isn’t something I’m running as a scoop because it’s only from one person, so until I hear from other people, I don’t know.
“I was told that she is definitely an Inquisitor, so we’ll see. I don’t know. I’m still running it with other sources.”
Earlier this year, Ingram was included on Lucasfilm’s official cast listing for Kenobi:
But as I said, given the constraints of film canon (which has traditionally been “stronger” than book or comic facts), there are some rules here.
Obi-Wan is on Tatooine (at least most of the time). Darth Vader is not. So, how do you get some Imperial peril on Tatooine without having Darth Vader show up?
Send in the Inquisitors. Boom.
Check out Corey’s speculation on Steele Wars.
