A New Construction Area Crops Up at the Poly
Just when we thought construction was turning the corner and winding down at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World, we noticed that brand new construction walls were going up.
A new sight was being erected at the Great Ceremonial House but near Pineapple Lanai and Capt. Cook’s.
This seemed like a slightly curious location to us. We know that most of the work being carried out at the Poly is on the monorail stop, resort entrance and individual guest rooms.
As we were heading to the lobby we did manage to track down a cast member who disclosed the reason for the new construction wall.
Unfortunately it isn’t that glamourous.
We were told that the grease traps shared by the Polynesian eateries needed to be updated.
Walls were being put up because as you can imagine, cleaning and replacing those traps is a little bit unsightly.
If you were looking for something a little more glamorous then you’ll definitely want to check out an article I wrote up last week that shows all of the incredible details of Moana themed rooms that you’ll find at the Poly.
In addition to renovated guest rooms, Disney is also working on updating the monorail stop at the resort. You can check out my latest updates on that project here.
A new Porte Cochere is also being built that is sure to dazzle arriving guests.
We are also told the lobby area is getting a brand new chandelier filled with new tropical details while still retaining the Mid-Century Modern feel of surroundings.
New guests rooms will be available to stay in mid-Summer! Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for further Walt Disney World news and updates.
